John "Dear"?
A girl on the Frugal Bride message board talks about her farmer fiance's love for John Deer. So, here's my take on what I would have for a John Deer Wedding. Of course, using my obsession Etsy as my source.
I start with, the shower favour. If I was throwing this gals staggette, these wedding favours would be a must. Pink tractors!! Awesome!! I would contact the etsy buyer Sweet Lollipop Shop, and see about doing them in her wedding colours.
The wedding favour. These are way too cute!! I imagine if I was having a John Deer theme wedding, it would be held outside. So I would hang these around and ask the guests to take one home with them. Etsy seller: BlueMama
The centrepieces. I would have something yummy in these and use this as the focus of my table. Seller, Wags Creations
These are so cute!! These would definalty be part of my bridesmaid's gift. Esty seller, My Mom Madelt.
And these by Sunset Sign Design would be part of the groomsmen gift.
For the groom's eyes only. These, by Bodylish, without a doubt, would be butt warmers
And this, by Bellarosa Garters for the garter. For sure
And just in case "Aunt Flow" comes for a visit. I will contact seller Pleat for some of these.
Don't worry mom!! The wedding you will be attending in 112 days will not carry any of these components. Or will they .. hmm

Why I love Princess Lasertron

1. Her business name is "Princess Lasertron"
2. She threw a kick ass wedding which was published on the very cool wedding site Offbeat Bride . Check out her review here
3. She designed her own wedding dress which screams crazy fun!!
4. She designed the boutonnieres, MOH's bouquet and her bouquet. OUT OF FELT AND BUTTONS YO!!
So, after stalking Megan from afar, I tracked her down .... yep, Etsy
And after stalking her another day or so, I decided to make contact. It was decided. Megan was making my wedding bouquet, Jer's boutonniere as well as Kalen's.
So less then 4 weeks since I made contact, our spectacular goods delivered on the doorstep. And what made this shipment so great, was the packaging.
Check this out .. and take notes!!
I know you were expecting to see the final product, but you'll just have to wait :)
In the meantime, be sure to visit Princess Lasertron on esty and spoil yourself! As Megan says "I make things and you like them". So there!

DIY 101
DIY = Do It Yourself
The funny thing about DYI, is the fact I have taken on a few DIY projects myself. Why is this funny?
1 - I have 0 patience.
2 - I am horrible with detail.
3 - I have been banned from painting walls from: Jeremy, Robin (at least a few times), Cortney, Jillian .. the list goes on.
However, I think my peeps who have me on their banned list will be shocked. Without giving away too much (and risk another comment from my mom telling me to stop giving everything away) here are a few things I will be doing (insert Joe Cocker's a little help from my friends) here.
*** DISCLAIMER: if you're coming to the wedding and want to be surprised, don't read further! ***
Our Invitations. I found a design I love on Uniquity Invitations. Jer hunted down the image I wanted, Kelly lent me her CD of 101 fonts, Robin will be hooking me up with some bling, Heather (friend from the states) let me have my cardstock sent to her from Paper Souce and me, I will be putting them together. Again, all with helps from my peeps.
Our Website. Hours and hours went into My Rockstar Wedding. I had mom, Cortney and Kelly (a girl from frugal bride) spell check for me. Still waiting for boy wonder to get me his "stuff" to add to it. Hopefully, by the time we send the invitations, it will be perfect. NB: There is a login /password required so you'll only get to the home page.
Centre Pieces. We have everything we need for these and have done some trials. I think we have it finalised, but I'm sure something will change between now and the wedding. This picture is one of the first trials I did. This has been slightly modified but the general idea is the same. At each table we will be placing an old photo.
Wish Tree. Jer and I have been back on forth on this. Do we want a guest book? yes. But not a traditional "sign our guest book". Do we want pictures via Polariod? Yes, but .... film costs WAY too much money. Plus, I saw this and knew I needed to do something like it.
But, Jer was set on the polariods. It's important to him that he has a picture of EVERYONE at the wedding. OK, fine, polaroid guest book it is. We even got a wicked template from Jen (AKA my saviour I found on FB). But, then I saw this used for seating.
GAME OVER!! I was getting my wishing tree using this as my inspiration. Now, we will still get a pic of everyone to make boy happy, but come on!! This is way too cool to not do!!
Robin introduced me to John Bead. We have a shopping date planned for late July/early August to pick up some fancy (but frugal) bling
The wish cards .. Vista Print offers free business cards. I found a design I can work with so I just need to get them ordered. Or, I'll find cheap 2 fold cards (which actually is more ideal).
And the branches. I've recruited a few of my country friends to pick me up some. Reminds me, better followup on them.
Misc. Here are a few other things I saw that I may try and incorporate into the wedding. At least use them as inspiration for something cool.

Fav DIY websites. Here are a couple of website where I find great ideas:
Style Me Pretty
Etsy
Project Wedding
Martha Stewart
If you have any more websites I should be looking at, please leave me a comment!!

A Hot Pink Petticoat ..

... has a logo!! Got it from a designer I met on Etsy and I'm thrilled with the final product. All I did, was post a message of what I needed and my budget, and people bid to get the sale, and then you choose who does it! Pretty cool I say.
Talked with my future website designer and target is to have something up for end of June. Now I'm working on the content, and recruiting some witty writers to be my guest bloggers on my "to be" blog. Jesh!! What did i get myself involved with??
Also, started working with my Special Olympics Baseball Team. LOVE IT!!! It's sort of like working out (when I do it). I dread going there cause it's after work and all I want to do is get out of my bra and lounge. But once I get there, I'm having the best time. Anyone interested in volunteering for the Toronto Special Olympics, click here to see where they need your help.
Anywho, looks like lunch is ready!

Etsy ... come here etsy!!
My new addiction. Etsy. "Your place to buy and sell all things handmade". Browse with caution cause you will find the coolest stuff on here.
From day 1 I told myself no veil for the wedding. I came across this and was in awe. Now, still not sure if I'm going to get one, but if I do, this is it. I'm in love with the enemy.
BRIDES - be sure to check out Giao's stuff. From what I hear, she also does custom jewely!
180 days kiddies!!

A Hot Pink Petticoat?
So I've reached out to this girl I met on frugal bride who's a freelancer wordsmith. I asked her for some names for my possible planning business which says professional yet spunky. So of the 10 or so she sent my way, I'm really liking "A Hot Pink Petticoat".
Update on what's going on
* 199 days until I'm a Mrs
* First Special Olympics game is May 15th (waiting to get more info)
* My fun sparkly shoes came in
* Anne/Mike are throwing an engagement BBQ Aug 2
* Got a Destination Wedding to help plan for April 2009
* Oh, and we're not moving to Vancouver just yet. Boy Wonder has plans of his own which means we can't skedaddle just yet :)
* Jer's music recital is June 21 and Robin's dance recital the 23rd. Contact us for ticket info!!
So ya, that's about it. Have my exam this thurs/fri .. eeee!!!
